This quiet seacoast village on picturesque Amelia Island in northeast Florida will be swingin’ to the beat of Dixieland, bebop, big band, Latin and contemporary jazz….
During the week-long festival from October 7-14th, great jazz will be performed by groups ranging from large bands to trios, featuring such acknowledged masters as saxophonist Frank Tiberi, trombonist Bill Allred, trumpeter/vocalist Bob Pickwood, tenor saxophonist Billy Ross, and Les DeMerle.
It looks like most of the big events will be during the weekend, Friday the October 12th and Saturday the 13th.
Both days will start out at 5:30 featuring cuisines of the finest area restaurants at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in the Courtyard.
- 7:00 - 10:00 PM: Jazz Concert (tickets: $30) Frank Tiberi and the Woody Herman Sax Section Performing hits from its acclaimed CD, Four Brothers Seven
- Barry Greene and Trio Jazz guitarist performing selections from his latest recording, Sojourner and more
- The Dynamic Les DeMerle Super Big Band, featuring vocalist Bonnie Eisele, with special guest Bob Pickwood on trumpet and vocals, in a tribute to jazz vocal legend, Eddie Jefferson
- 10:30 PM: Late Night Jam Session $10 or $5 for students with ID, or free with any Festival ticket Angel’s Porch Café, 708 Centre Street, Fernandina Beach
